Christina's World
We went to the Farnsworth Art Museum/Wyeth Center in Rockland, Maine and part of the package was in Cushing. The most evocative of all for Andrew Wyeth fans is the Olson House, the gray farmhouse seen in many of his paintings but most notably, Christina's World. The unfurnished house displays copies of Wyeth's work in the rooms they were painted.
Olson's House
Wyeth's series of drawings, watercolors, and tempera paintings featured Christina Olson, her brother Alvaro, and the house itself which he did from 1939-1968.
Andrew Wyeth painted this roof top.

Christina's Door and the painting done by Wyeth.
Alvaro's dory - he came home to take care of his sister Christina and work the family saltwater farm. No longer a fisherman he put his dory in the attic where it remains today.
Alvaro's rocking chair and the window full of the geraniums that Christina loved.
Hitching post outside the window.
