On the Road Again...

RANDOM SIGHTS ALONG CALIFORNIA STREETS, ROADS, & HIGHWAYS
Channel Islands from El Camino Real, Spanish for "The Royal Road" - 600 miles of mission trail connecting California's Spanish missions.

URBAN LIGHT
The sculpture "Urban Light" by Chris Burden in 2008 is made from 202 restored 1920's cast iron street lamps.

BERLIN WALL
Wende Museum owns the largest piece of the Berlin Wall outside of Berlin.  This 10 piece section is on display on Wilshire Boulevard.

TEHACHAPI RAILROAD LOOP
The Tehachapi Loop is an engineering marvel and part of the Tehachapi Railroad Line built from 1874-76 by 3000 Chinese Laborer's from Canton, China. 

The Tehachapi Line is 28 miles that includes 18 tunnels, 10 bridges, and numerous water towers used by the old steam locomotives.  It was the final railway link between San Francisco and Los Angeles and is still used today.

This steep line has a 2.2% gradient and passes under itself at this tunnel.
