We drove out to the winery looking for Cambria wine from 2008 but no luck. The area around Santa Maria was miles and miles of row crops (broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries all being harvested) and vineyards. Nearby Lompoc grows many cut flowers so it's a very lush, fertile valley.
