CAMBRIA, California

As we drove down Highway 1 from Monterey and Big Sur we see a road sign to Cambria!  Gotta go there!

Sun setting on the ocean at Moonstone Beach, near Cambria.

The next day we explore the city... "Cambria is an historic and enticing village on the Central Coast of California midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.  Here you will delight in the exceptional galleries, fine restaurants, and quaint sops.  The natural lasting beauty of Cambria, where the ocean meets the pines, will keep you and your family coming back for a lifetime."

Cambria sits right on the ocean.

Ocean view...

Scott and I go on a search for all things Cambria.  How many times can you find our granddaughter's name?  We saw it over and over again!

Local newspaper

No wonder it's "Pet Friendly"; it's right next to the dog park!

Cambria has two villages, East Village is the old town with many historic buildings and West Village is reminiscent of a Tudor style Old English village.

Wouldn't you love to have a library with your name?  I would!

Maybe a skate park?

Must try lawn bowling - looks like fun!

NITT WITT RIDGE

Art Beal or Captain Nitt Witt built and lived in this folk art environment until his death in 1992.  People still flock to Cambria to see this crazy roadside attraction.

Notice the toilets on the hillside above the stacked tire rims!

The guys at the brewery told us that they would be changing the name of their beer because of copyright infringements filed by the Cambria Wine Company.

Grandpa shopping...

I love the sea otter on the trolley sign!

We had coffee at Cambria Coffee.

Los Cambritas, a Mexican restaurant.

Every October Cambria has a "Scarecrows Festival" with more than 100 hand-crafted scarecrows on display.  Check them out at CambriaScarecrows.com.

Maybe the city will need a vet named Cambria in a few years!

Or an event planner!

I just liked the hand-carved mailboxes on this street.

ONLY THING MISSING!
Our favorite Cambria!
