Scott and I stopped for a drink at McDonald's and then noticed this funny little cartoon guy on the arches. We decided to find out more!
Speedee was the first McDonald's mascot before Ronald McDonald and he still appears on some old buildings. Speedee was replaced about the same time that Ray Kroc bought the restaurant from the McDonald brothers. McDonald's Corporation also wanted to remove any possible association with Alka-Seltzer's mascot, Speedy!
